Adelaide Oval Eastern Stands

This project provides new infrastructure to Adelaide Oval, which includes the addition of three grandstands to accommodate 5000 additional public spectators in covered seating, an extension and improvement of the public "outer" area with the Adelaide Parkland setting beyond, and a comprehensive update of amenities, storage and operational infrastructure within the grounds. Additional new works include an upgrade to the Victor Richardson Gates and ticket entry structure, incorporation of a Video Replay Screen, and the sensitive upgrading of operational infrastructure in the Heritage Western Stands.
The stands have been configured as festive counterparts to the more formal Heritage Western Stands and are comprised of sculptural precast concrete elements supporting seating tiers covered by expansive, highly engineered, tensile membrane roofs. In accordance with the requirements of the Adelaide Oval Conservation Plan, the design of the new stands specifically preserves open space and grassed mounds between buildings and permits views into and out of the grounds.
