Second Ponds Creek Sydney’s north west sector is one of a number of degraded creek lines in the area, following years of agricultural activities including clearing, grazing, dairying and orcharding. Second Ponds Creek flows through the centre of a proposed low-density residential subdivision with an anticipated yield of 3,200 lots, most of which are being developed in joint venture arrangements between Landcom and private developers. Landcom was committed from the outset to the complete regeneration and reconstruction of the 3km length of creek line, which will become the ‘spine’ and focus of the new subdivision. Development of a master plan for the creek corridor was the first priority in the process of land development so that a valuable resource for the future inhabitants of the new suburb could be realised.
