HASSELL and Richard Kirk Architect have won the limited design competition for the new Advanced Engineering Building (AEB) at the University of Queensland.
The building will co-locate five key materials science and engineering research centres and occupy a prime site overlooking the University lakes. The Advanced Engineering Building will be a state-of-the-art engineering education building with flexible teaching and learning spaces. It includes integrated teaching and research laboratories, and large scale manufacturing and civil engineering research laboratories. The facility will also establish a new benchmark for environmental sustainability.
