Jacob’s Creek Visitor Centre, Barossa Valley, SA, Australia

HASSELL was engaged to articulate a vision for a Visitor Centre, identifying a site and a design context, which would challenge a visitor in search of symbols and presence of the Jacob's Creek label and wine experience. The building, sited on the banks of Jacob's Creek and set in the vineyards, evokes an image of a modern, yet timeless design vocabulary. Innovative aspects of environmentally sustainable design are incorporated. Key functional elements include a gallery of historical displays of wine, production, viticulture and the Jacob's Creek brand, interactive and specialised expert wine tasting facilities, dining and outdoor settings, together with supporting infrastructure and amenities.
