Busselton Underwater Observatory

Australia’s first underwater observatory has two distinct elements, a 9m diameter substructure tube below the water and a superstructure entry building. An asymmetrically curving staircase and landings are designed to encourage a range of focussed and ‘accidental’ viewing experiences, with a lift opening on to key landing and observation points. The observatory offers a unique experience of the local marine life, allowing a broad range of people, including disabled, elderly and family groups to enjoy marine habitats in comfort.
