Unilodge at ANU Canberra provides accommodation and communal facilities for over 500 students in 300 rooms in a secure environment. The building is a first step in the creation of an urban streetscape in line with the City West Master plan. The design of the building is driven by a single room unit module, various combinations of which form a structural module. The building is 'H' shaped with a central bank of lifts and circulation bridges linking two wings of accommodation, the wings enfold two courtyards. The building has a strong sustainability agenda to achieve the equivalent of a 4 star energy rating under the ACT First Rate Scheme |
