The Ohel Leah Synagogue was built in 1901 to serve the Jewish community of Hong Kong. During the ensuing years the building was subject to alterations and additions and suffered structural damage. HASSELL in association with the SACON Heritage Unit was commissioned to undertake the conservation restoration for the Synagogue building and landscape. The project brief called for the comprehensive conservation of the Synagogue, improvements to amenities, acoustics, sight lines and general requirements to bring the building and grounds up to current needs of the Jewish community and statutory requirements.
