Located over five levels of 101 Collins Street in Melbourne, the Macquarie Bank workplace was an opportunity to create a dynamic environment within the existing space. Having initially established itself as a 'boutique' bank, Macquarie's rapid growth means that it is now a major national and international financial institution. The design by HASSELL imparts an outcome that moves away from a more traditional banking institution to a design reflective of Macquarie's confident and vibrant approach to business. Flexible desk layouts, an open plan workplace, and the design of 'community spaces' on each floor, demonstrate that networking and relationships are key elements to Macquarie's culture. The design of the Macquarie Bank workplace can be seen as a tool which allows Macquarie to adapt to the changing nature of their business and staff needs.
